STEP 1

Choose the Right Formula

If your bird has been eating seeds or a mixed diet, we recommend starting with High Potency for about 6 months. It delivers extra nutrition while your bird adjusts to their new, healthier lifestyle. Once they've settled in and are thriving, most healthy adult birds can transition to Adult Lifetime or Harrison's Organic Premium Pellets for everyday maintenance. (If your vet recommends staying on High Potency long-term, that's perfectly fine too!)

STEP 2

Choose the Correct Size

Pick the nugget size that fits your bird's species and eating style. You might be surprised — birds sometimes prefer bigger or smaller pieces than you'd expect, so feel free to experiment!

STEP 3

Follow a Conversion Plan

Most birds do best with a gradual switch. Keep offering their familiar foods while slowly increasing Harrison's — and never assume they're eating just because food is in the bowl!

Daily Success Checklist
  • imageKeep an eye on your bird’s appetite and droppings every day.
  • imageWeigh your bird regularly when you can.
  • imageBe patient — some birds switch in a day, others take a few weeks. That’s totally normal!
STEP 4

Keep the Diet Simple

For the best results, let Harrison's be the foundation of your bird's diet. Once they've converted, stick to healthy veggies and appropriate treats as extras — and resist the temptation to let them fill up on seeds or high-fat snacks.
