So far the Eclectus seem to enjoy the HOPPs, the Greys and Amazons have sampled it too and appear to like it. We are only on our first bag so time will tell but so far so good!

Opened the bag and it smells very fresh and solid pellets. Didn’t seem to have a bunch of crushed pellet powder. No strong alfalfa smell which is good for me because my girl doesn’t seem to care for that.

I have an Amazon that is 37 and she is very picky with pellets. I gave her a spoonful and she didn’t snub up her beak and even finished them. The pellets seem to be small enough for smaller birds and they break easy enough in my fingers. Crushing the ends with my fingers was also easy but I wasn’t able to if I tried in the middle.

Personally I will be adding this to my pellet blend since we’re already fans of Harrison products and she is eating them.

  8. M M (verified owner)

Billy the CAG has enjoyed getting the new HOPP pellets and seems to really enjoy the shape.
I love that this formula is without peanuts or soy!

  9. Jkiyama (verified owner)

It took a few tries for my picky tiels, but they now fly over when they see me pick up the bag.

My 27 yr old Quaker didn’t want to try it at first, but I kept trying and now he loves it!

  13. Tammy DeLong

It took a couple weeks for our picky IRN to even try the HOPP nuggets. I continued to add a small amount to his feeding bowls along w his Harrison’s HP course & chop. He eventually started eating the HOPP & now eats the HOPP before his chop. We love Harrison’s!!

  14. AMANDA FLOWERS (verified owner)

My conure accepted right away, and she enjoys them mixed together with her high Potency pepper Harrisons. I will continue to feed her both with her favorite power treats.

Before switching to Harrison’s, one of my budgies was very sickly. They’re really fussy, so it took a while to convince them to switch, but I’m glad I put in the effort. He’s no longer underweight or sickly, and my budgies seem so much calmer and happier.

  16. DIANE PARSONS (verified owner)

I have been trying the pellets along with the Nuggies, but so far my Amazon will not touch either, and it has been several weeks. Per your advice, I will continue with trying to encourage both and see hat happens.

I have an African Grey Congo Parrot named Tobbie. Tobbie is twenty five years old. My husband gave me an egg in a hatchery unit for my birthday. We hatched Tobbie. I have fed Tobbie Harrison pellets front birth. When Tobbie was just one year old, my husband passed away. Tobbie has been my companion for the past 24 years. Two years ago I adopted a Blue Fronted Amazon parrot named Poco. He was 37 years old. He had eaten seed all of his life. Over the last two years I have managed to switched Poco to a Harrison pellet diet. During that time Tobbie and Poco became very close companions. They would touch beaks and preen each other and share toys. They were the best of friends. Talking and preening all day long. Well two months ago my adopted parrot Poco passed away. Tobbie was so very sad. Tobbie became very depressed and stopped eating and drinking water. I thought I was going to lose my African Gray Parrot Tobbie. Like magic I saw a video of a group of Macaws eating the new Harrison diet called Hopp’s. I purchased this new pellet hoping to interest Tobbie and bring him back to my happy and healthy companion. Tobbie immediately became interested in small pellets and started to eat. Before the week was up Tobbie settled down and became my usual happy, singing and talking naughty companion. I both love and trust Harrison products. It saved Tobbie. Thank you for the opportunity to tell my story.

The premium pellets I use for my two budgies are excellent quality. They’re made with natural ingredients and no harmful additives. Since the pellets are a bit large for budgies, I break them into smaller pieces to make them easier to eat. They love them, and I feel confident knowing they’re getting a healthy and balanced diet.

    Hi,
Sunny our Cockatiel is enjoying all his food and with the addition of HOPP: )I am so thankful for him at the age of 29 to have a healthy variety of nutrition.😍🙏

  20. CAROLE PEARY

The cockatiels love HOPP. They took to it immediately.

I’m going with 4 stars because I trust Harrison’s commitment to quality and appreciate the attempt to make a budget-friendly food, but unfortunately the palatably of the HOPP hasn’t won over my two birds yet. My amazon is 36 and my canary is 6, and both have eaten pellets their entire lives. Harrison’s regular formulas are their base diet, but I routinely add other brands just for the sake of variety. I can typically “cold turkey” changes with no issue, but after the initial few bites they both refused to eat HOPP. (I know the food isn’t marketed to canaries, but they share a 16′ aviary, so they always eat the same foods – the parrot’s crumbs are canary-sized.) The only other pellet I’ve seen them refuse is another alfalfa based brand, so maybe alfalfa simply doesn’t taste good to them? In any case, I’ll mix them in a while longer to see if they change their minds, or feed the rest of the bag to my chickens, who will eat nearly anything, so it won’t go to waste. Thankfully, I’d also ordered the regular Harrison’s nuggets, so my birds are still happy.

These pellets smell amazing!! My cockatiel absolutely loves them and he can be pretty picky! I will definitely be ordering more! All of Harrison’s products provide amazing results! My last cockatiel lived to be over 30 years old and I’m sure that Harrison’s quality foods were the reason

  23. JANELLE WILLIAMS (verified owner)

My Quaker loves HOPP organic pellets. I will definitely be buying another bag.

  24. mulberryacresrescue

Thank you for a soy-free pellet! We run a parrot rescue and sanctuary and we have a lot of birds who need soy-free during very intense hormonal seasons. This pellet diet helps a lot!

  25. CHRISTINA COUGHLIN

I have always loved feeding Harrison’s but had to stop due to my own corn allergy. I’ve not felt confident in my bird’s nutrition since. I order HOPP as soon as I saw it was available. My pickiest bird LOVES it! I love the price point too! Definitely a win in my house with my miss matched flock of rescues.

  26. pizanleo (verified owner)

My ruby crested, parakeet, blue Quaker and Conyers love it. I mix it in the seeds and dried fruit. And leave no trace. Good product.

  27. goldendaysaz

I’m here to tell ya, I’m relieved to read on the bag that “birds may eat as much as they want” because our little bottomless pit (golden conure) Davi, grazes on this HOPP pellet. 🙂

  28. watercolors (verified owner)

My parrots were rather picky about their pellets (as am I) – I was happy to see the new organic soy and corn free pellets and they took to them right away. My Pacific parrotlet really loves them!

  29. Shawna Spencer (verified owner)

Bought earlier this month. Coverting my two teils currently although there being stubborn still ik they definitely love this way more then roudybush crumble. So stoked. 💜 great product and puts my mind at ease knowing its made with quality ingredients

  30. MARLA GREENE

My grey and Rosey Bourke love the coarse and fine pellets. As they are 28 and 12 years respectively I am not sure if I could convert them easily.

  31. CARYN FUGATT (verified owner)

My lovebird and conure love these pellets! They tend to be picky eaters, but took to these immediately. They already eat Harrison’s nuggets, and adding these pellets in provides them with some variety.

I’ve been looking for a healthy and reliable food option for my two budgies, and I’m so glad I found Harrison’s HOPP Premium Pellets. As a bird owner, I really care about what I feed them, and these pellets have been a game-changer.

The best part for me is that they’re made with certified organic ingredients, which gives me peace of mind knowing my birds are eating something wholesome. They don’t have soy, corn, or peanuts, which I’ve learned can be problematic for some birds. Since switching to HOPP, I’ve noticed my budgies have more energy and their feathers seem shinier too.

I also love how affordable HOPP is without skimping on quality. It’s a great option for anyone who wants the best for their birds without breaking the bank. My budgies seem to really enjoy the taste, and it mixes well with other food I give them.

I genuinely recommend these pellets to anyone with pet birds. It’s a product I trust, and I feel good about feeding it to my feathered friends!

  33. JIM JENKINS (verified owner)

My two Senegals needed about three days to finally start eating HOPP and now they won’t stop! Harrisons always manages to make food that is both healthy and appealing to our bird companions. I’ve been using their products for more than 20 years and am glad they’re still making great products which help maintain and prolong the life of our feathered friends!

  34. JUSTIN DONNELLY

Love it, seems both tasty and healthy

  35. LYDIA (verified owner)

My blue fronted Amazon seems to enjoy it. It’s comforting to know I’m giving him food that I know is good for him. Thank you

  36. ERIC BRYAN (verified owner)

My goffins loves the other Harrison’s pellets but hasn’t touched these ones yet. With that aside, they are great quality and I only feed my bird Harrison’s pellets. I’m sure she will eventually eat these new ones, it just takes time for her to adjust.

  37. SUSAN HILL (verified owner)

My grey loves these so mush…devours them. He was on the Harrisons bird food but decided to try and he loves these more. So important to feed our parrots well.
