Call for Proposals: Avian Nutrition, Wellness and Conservation Grants
Harrison’s Bird Foods is pleased to announce a call for proposals for grants in the field of avian nutrition, avian wellness and avian conservation. This grant opportunity aims to support research and conservation projects that contribute to the understanding and promotion of health, nutrition, conservation, and overall well-being in avian species.
Focus Areas: (Pet Birds)
Proposals may address but are not limited to the following focus areas:
- Nutritional requirements for different avian species
- Effects of diet on avian health and wellness
- Behavioral and environmental factors influencing avian nutrition
- Innovations in avian feeding practices
- Impact of nutrition on avian reproduction and growth
- Avian conservation including issues related to wild avian nutrition
Eligibility:
- Researchers, scientists, and professionals in the field of avian health, conservation, and nutrition are eligible to apply.
- Individuals or teams from academic institutions, research organizations, non-profit organizations, and government agencies are encouraged to submit proposals.
Grant Details:
- Grant Amount: up to $50,000 per project
- Duration: 1 year or less
- Funding is intended to support research expenses, including materials, equipment, and personnel costs.
- 2026 Grant Proposal Deadline: October, 31, 2025
Proposal Guidelines: Interested applicants are required to submit a detailed proposal including the following:
- Cover page (1 page)
- Title
- Authors
- Organization name(s) If applicable
- Project Proposal (3 pages total)
- Abstract (~250 words)
- Background and significance of the study
- Research objectives
- Methodology
- Expected outcomes and impact
- Budget and timeline (2 pages total)
- Project timeline
- Budget
- Budget justification
- CV for the individual or the team (3 pages maximum per CV)

Veterinary Student Scholarship
Harrison’s Bird Foods Recognizes Six Global Recipients of the 2026 Veterinary Student Scholarship Program
Harrison’s Bird Foods, a global leader in certified organic avian nutrition, is proud to announce the six recipients of its 2026 Veterinary Student Scholarship Grants. Each recipient will receive $2,000 USD to support educational experiences that advance their training in avian and exotic animal medicine.
This year’s applicant pool was one of the strongest to date, reflecting growing international interest in avian health, conservation, and evidence-based nutrition. Three of the six recipients are international veterinary students, underscoring the worldwide reach of Harrison’s educational initiatives.

The Harrison’s Veterinary Student Scholarship funds meaningful professional development opportunities including externships, conservation projects, conferences, research initiatives, and other hands-on learning experiences. Recipients are invited to submit written reflections and photos following their supported activity—many of which will be featured in Harrison’s educational outreach programs, including the Bulletin Bird newsletter.
