Ingredients:

  • One Bag Harrison’s Original Bird Bread Mix
  • One scant cup (one half 14-oz can) can organic pumpkin (NOT pumpkin pie filling)
  • One scant cup (one half 14-oz can) organic coconut milk 8-10 chopped organic Medjool dates
  • 1/2-1 cup chopped organic walnuts

Directions:

    1. Grease a cookie sheet, or cut parchment paper to fit.
    2. Using a stand or hand mixer, or by hand, mix the pumpkin and coconut milk until blended.
    3. Add bread mix and mix well: add dates, and walnuts.
    4. You will have a sticky dough. Use two spoons to drop dough onto the cookie sheet: for macaws, soup spoons are just about right.
    5. Scoop up some dough in one, then use the back of the other spoon to push the dough onto the sheet. Drops can be placed closely together, this dough does not spread. For smaller parrots, use the same technique using teaspoons. Don’t worry if the drops are lumpy, your parrot won’t mind!
    6. Bake larger drops for 25-30 minutes, smaller drops for 20-25.
    7. Store in plastic bags once they have cooled, and refrigerate or freeze
