Oops! | 7/4/2022 |
I've been feeding the coarse to my Hahn's macaw for 30 years. I / she didn't realize that it is too big for her until I read the description several years ago. Parrots need to chew and her food is as good for chewing as a toy is. I always buy 3 1 lb bags each of Lifetime Coarse and Pepper Lifetime Coarse to give her some variety. Pogo loves it; she's 30 and is in great feather. I would NEVER give a pet bird anything else!

Best Pellet that Will Transform Your Birds Health | 7/25/2015 |
I first heard about your product from my avian veternarian. My poor Citron went through a bout of self mutilation of his chest requiring surgery and six weeks recovery for not only wound healing but feather regrowth. The whole situation broke my heart. My doctor did commented that my bird was a bit overweight and asked about his diet. I told her that he gets fresh mixed vegetables everyday, a mixture of seed and the pellets that look like pieces of fruit. My vet told me that contrary to pupliscized misinformation, birds do not need large amounts of bird seeds especially not the sunflower seed which has the most amount of calories, and its the seed that birds seem to like the best. The fruit shaped pellet isnt the worst food, but the concern is that if given daily in the diet, the color from the pellet can mistakenly be taken as the appearance for blood in your birds droppings. As we all know, dropping watching is a national past time when you own a bird. My vet went on to tell me that while my Citron was healing from his surgery, they also gave him fresh vegetables, just a little bit of seeds as a treat, and a bowl of Harrisons Pellets based on body weight. I continued with the meal program for over four years and it is the same food program that I gave my Goffin as well. When I brought my Citron in for for a check up, my vet could not believe the changes that she sees in my birds generally health: weight is now perfect, feathers are glossy and healthy, their beaks and skin along with their eyes are also so healthy. My vet said that if she didnt have their charts in front of her, she would have sworn that they were much younger birds. For anyone who lives in the disaster prone areas, please remember to buy a bit extra bird food to make sure that your beloved bird is well taken care of in case a disaster takes place much like the same way that you put a bit extra dog food in your pantry. Rather than shopping around, dont waist your time and know that you can have complete confidence in your Harrisons purchase. Today, I am purchasing 2/5 pound bags of Adult Lifetime Course! Our larger birds are blessed with longer lives and I for one want those lives to be as healthy as possible!

I am amazed! | 2/9/2014 |
Im freaking out about how much she likes these Harrisons pellets! I decided to upgrade her from Zupreem Natural and I thought shed need to be slowly weened onto them, but shes going nuts on them!!! I usually give her 9 pellets in the morning along with her chop food ... and 3 uncooked wheat twist pastas cause she loves them. She eats the pasta and goes back for the chop later, and sometimes eats maybe 4 pellets. I give her 9 pellets at night in her bed cage. She drops them to the ground and plays with them a lot. She is eating the pellets as soon as they hit the bowl now, nothing thrown to the floor! She passed her dinner today, split pea soup, and went straight to the 4 pellets I added to her bowl! I added 4 more and she took them too! These pellets are obviously AMAZING! Theyre organic too, so I love that!
